Hello, barrel racers! How’s your day? How's your week??  How's your year???  Speaking of year... let me tell you about mine.  It's been an interesting, wonderful, challenging, exhilerating, whirl-wind walk of faith this past year and looking back now... I'm pleased to see how much Gold Buckle Barrel Horses and I have grown.  I created this page to express my appreciation to all those who have inspired me along the way and for those who continue to encourage me each day.

I love, love, love training and riding barrel horses! It’s my life. My heart beat races just thinking about it. But, there is one thing in life that is even more exciting for me to talk about… and that’s Jesus!

With the new look and GBBH design, I struggled with how to write a better "Inspiration" page.  As I re-read my own words, I realized that I'm not ready to File 3 the following paragraphs.  They describe a poignant time in my life and they express a message I am driven to share.   Above all, my goal is to live my life outload so that all may see what the Lord has done for me.  If He can reach me in a little two-bit Texas town, with nothing to my name and not enough sense to pay attention... then that's just proof that no one lives beyond the far reach of God.

My life today is so far beyond what I ever dreamed. Being raised in a church as a child didn’t make me a Christian. I was pretty much clueless about why I was there and just sort of followed the crowd. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I realized I needed help with every part of my life. With a strange curiosity, I started asking questions and hanging out with a few friends at a local cowboy church.

Today, I look back and see how God reached down and saved me. I am so thankful, too. I have learned to trust God in all settings and talk to Jesus everyday. Have you ever heard, “You get what you pray for”? I love that saying and it helps me remember James 4:2, ‘You have not because you ask not.’

I’ve learned to bathe everything in prayer. And, I encourage each of you to ask for God’s help. Whatever it is. You must be interested in barrel racing, or you wouldn’t be here on my page… so if you have a particular horse need… ASK! If you have a family need, financial need, health, whatever. Even if you think it’s silly. Try it. Talk to Jesus and ask for God’s favor. Then, don’t doubt that He hears you. If you pray in Jesus’ name, He’s going to hear you.

Now. BELIEVE. Believe you will receive. Visualize having what it is you just asked for. Don’t be wishy-washy. Don’t say, “Well I hope that works.“ If anyone says to me ever again, “I hope.” I think I’m going to scream! (I catch myself using that word sometimes and it drives me nuts.) Start believing the word of God. Practice switching your words. Any time you feel like saying I HOPE, change it immediately to I BELIEVE.
