KENDRA'S CORNER
Kendra and "Dover" (the 9 year old red roan Hancock/Azure Te gelding) won the Saturday night performance on April 14th at the PRCA rodeo in Palestine, Texas. Dover's winning time of a 17.0 placed him 2nd over-all for the week. This was Dover's third pro rodeo appearance. His first pro rodeo was two weeks ago in Sherman, Texas; where he
earned his first check. Many of you remember seeing Dover used as a demonstration horse at the Ada, Oklahoma, clinic back when he was nine days new to the barrel pattern.
Gold Buckle Fans, please make welcome new owner, Denali Solomon. Denali made the trip to Texas from Montana and rode eight different pro rodeo horses in search of the perfect one. She went home with a very tough decision to make and Homie
remained at the top of her list. Homie turns five this year, with pro rodeo money already under his belt. Kendra started him early on the
pattern as a three year old. He is a Solano's Gold bred horse, a finished cutter, winner of the Oklahoma State Fair Open Ranch Team Sorting
Competition 2007 and the undoubtedly the smoothest barrel horse to ever grace the barn at Gold Buckle Ranch.
"Though it is difficult to part with such a phenomenal horse, I feel that Homie and Denali will reach new levels of success for Team Gold Buckle. He was a complete joy each and every day I owned him... truly part of our family... and I wish Denali more victories than she can count or imagine!" ~ Kendra
Talladega kicks off 2008 with a bang! Completing two clean runs in Odessa, Talladega and Kendra clocked a 14.4 in Round One and came back to Round Two with a 14.10. Next stop... Fort Worth, Texas! Thanks to everyone for all your support and prayers.
Success is truly a result of teamwork... and "I LOVE MY TEAM!!!" ~ Kendra

GBBH Horse & Rider hit the 6 o'clock News! Dani and "Denali" had an awesome weekend at the San Antonio Stock Show and Barrel Race! This is one hot GBBH team to watch in '08!!!
Teen Competes in Barrel Racing
She is still in high school, but on Thursday a San Antonio teenager proved she is fast enough to compete with professional barrel racers. Thursday was the first day of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Danielle Powers, 16, is a student at Reagan High School, but she's also a competitive barrel racer. She may be one of the youngest
racers at this year's stock show, but she says she and her horse, Denali, are not intimidated. "The feeling is a rush. You don't even remember it when you're done. If you do, you made a bad run," said Danielle Powers. She says the biggest part of being a barrel racer is being able to trust your horse. 1/2008
GBBH Riders Braving Cold Temps!!!
Rising Star, Maykala, and her rodeo horse "Express" came to Aubrey to work with Kendra on Sunday, January 20. She and Express are making rapid progress... so youth rodeo contestants, look out! If you see this girl at a rodeo (and you want to take part in on a little inside joke) ask Makayla if a feedbag is heavy. She will grin real big... then you
will see her make a flawless run and likely go home with pockets full of cash!

Been wondering about Jessie and "Tuxedo"? Team Dallas is doing GREAT! Better than GREAT... SIMPLY AMAZING!!! Jessie also endured the cold and the wind to come work her horse with Kendra. It's time to rock 'n roll!!! Their pattern is awesome and Tuxedo is running faster than ever. Jessie is
like the ideal poster child for Valentine's Day. She invests much time into making friends with her horse... Tuxedo loves her so much, he will do anything to please her. Their friendship and respect for each other is second to none. Great work, Jess! You are a role model for all of us.
